An unexpected enjoyable experience with Habibi has been some of the private supper clubs I have thrown for Habibis. These private supper clubs give me so much joy because they remind me of the celebrations we would have when I was younger. Birthdays were always celebrated, and a full on event was thrown. This would explain why I always love to host a big birthday party each year. The table would be decked out with the most delicious homemade food like mini burgers, kibbeh, jello and custard and bonjus, the popular Lebanese juice. 

As the cheap foret noir descends with the firework that throws probably toxic ash over the creme chantilly, and all the second cousins are screaming along to the Arab version of happy birthday, my cheeks hurt from smiling. The love I felt those days is the love I aim to replicate at supper clubs. Whether it’s a birthday or just a celebration of life, I feel so lucky to have the chance to make delicious food to go with your merriment.
